ABOUT THE 2017 CEO SUMMIT VIETNAM
Under the theme of “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future,” the 2017 Summit will bring together APEC Leaders from the world’s most dynamic economies, speakers from the world’s top companies, and over 700 CEOs from across the Asia-Pacific region. The program will feature two days of interactive discussions, presentations and dialogues on a wide range of issues that will impact the future development of the region, including innovation & entrepreneurship, healthy workforces, sustainability, inclusive growth, and entrepreneurship. The 2017 APEC CEO Summit will be held November 8-10 in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Next year will mark the second time Vietnam will host APEC since acceding to the group in 1998; it first hosted in 2006. Vietnamese officials consider Vietnam’s APEC chairmanship to be its most important diplomatic event to take place over the next decade. That is due, in part, to APEC’s strategic importance to Vietnam; nineteen APEC economies participate in free trade agreements with Vietnam and its trade with APEC economies represents 79 percent of the country’s total trade. APEC economies also invest significantly in Vietnam, representing nearly 80 percent of total foreign direct investment.
U.S. DELEGATE PARTICIPATION
Each year, the Summit draws hundreds of our nation's top business leaders, intellectuals and media personalities. Together they serve as the voice of U.S. business in interactive discussions with APEC Leaders on expanding trade and investment opportunities.
The APEC CEO Summit provides unparalleled opportunities for business executives to:
- Engage in dialogue with APEC Economy Leaders, Ministers, and high-level government officials;
- Discover business opportunities through networking with CEOs from hundreds of top Asia-Pacific companies; and
- Forge connections with thought leaders and media outlets from around the region and the world.
In addition to the official program, senior U.S. delegates have the opportunity to participate in invitation-only side meetings with Leaders of APEC economies and senior U.S. government representatives, which are organized by the U.S. APEC Business Coalition.
